Everyone wants to feel good. When you feel good about yourself, looking better is only one of the advantages.
You find that when you feel good about who you are, a lot of other things in your life start falling into place, and you begin to get closer to where you want to be, and closer to getting what you want.
For so many years, I struggled and struggled to feel good about myself. I was carrying way too much weight, and this affected every aspect of my life. I didn't leave the house much. I felt envious of those people around me who didn't appear to have any problems with their weight.
I was obsessed with how I looked. And the more obsessed I became, the more weight I put on. I felt trapped in this negative cycle.
I tried so many things to get me out of this rut, and this is what this blog is about. The things that you can do to get yourself motivated to make positive changes in your life and feel good about who you are. As I said, once you feel good about yourself, you look better anyway.
This site is about ways to help people with weight problems feel better about themselves. Once you feel better about yourself, you start to look better anyway.

Don't be Afraid to Ask for Help
Don't be afraid to ask for help, and look to helping yourself, when you're overweight and feeling awful about yourself.
It may help to try a combination of things. I haven't reviewed everything yet but here's a list of things you can try:
1. Listening to subliminal downloads - this is probably one of the easiest things you can try. You just listen to it over and over again. You can even listen to them while you sleep. If you read on further in this blog, I go into detail about subliminal messaging to help with controlling how much you eat.
However, you can get subliminal downloads, for weight control, workout motivation, self-esteem and the list just goes on. If you want to see just how many things you can try and help yourself with subliminal downloads, Click here to have a look
2. Hypnosis - this may take the form of listening to a download, or going to a certified hypnotherapist. Given how popular hypnotherapy is, you may want to consider this. You can read more about hypnosis by clicking here There are are articles and newsletters to see if hypnosis is for you.
3. Meditation - there are so many benefits to meditation for your well being and health. It can help both with your physical health and your mental health. If you don't know much about mediation, you can find information on meditation by clicking here
There is a sample meditation training video that you can try to see if meditation is for you.
4. Family and friends - it can sometimes help to talk to family and friends. You can get their support and they might be able to help you. It may help just to talk about your problems and how you are feeling about yourself in a safe and secure environment. Having a friend to go with you for a walk can sometimes help you get motivated to do some form of regular exercise.
5. Counselling - if you feel OK about talking to someone else about how you feel, this can help. By going to a counsellor or therapist, you can confront more than just your weight. You can try and deal with problems that are causing your weight problems. It's sometimes easier to talk to someone you don't know. If you don't know where to find a counsellor or how to go about doing this, please leave a comment and I'll do my best to help you.
6. Exercise - doing something physical can help with making you feel a lot better about yourself. But if the thought of working out makes you want to turn away in horror, it's OK. You can do something to help yourself. I've got a post about workout motivation with subliminal messaging on this blog if you're interested. If you find that you're OK with getting motivated to workout, I've had a look at Turbulence Training and how that compares with other forms of exercise. It sounds scary, but don't be fooled by the title.
7. Diet supplements - I've tried so many different diet pills that it isn't funny. Some work, and some don't. I'll be reviewing diet pills in the coming weeks.
There is no one single solution. There is no magic cure that can make you instantly feel good and look better. Taking action to do something about how you feel is the best thing that you can do for yourself. Just try and start doing something.
The above list is not exhaustive and I'll be adding to it. However, the things listed here may be able to help you feel good and look better. Give a few things a try. Mix and max and try whatever feels good to you.

Losing weight with subliminal mp3s
eListening to subliminal mp3s is one of the things that I tried to stop me from eating so much.
Even now when I think about how much I was eating, I am amazed at the volume of food I managed to consume. I wasn't hungry or anything like that. I was eating enought to feed a family at every meal. How could I be hungry?
I was eating as a way of coping with the stress I was feeling with all the weight I had packed on. The worse I felt about myself, the more I ate.
It was such a catch-22 predicament I found myself in. One thing I did realise was that it was how I was thinking that way keeping me in this destructive cycle. So, I was trying to work out of ways to change how I was thinking. I was trying to work out ways of how to start thinking and feeling good about myself.
So I made a list of what I considered to be my positive attributes. This kind of made me feel better, for a little while. But this faded everytime I looked in the mirror.
I tried self-hypnosis on weight loss and self esteem. I had heard that self-hypnosis downloads had helped a lot of people. There was only one major problem with this is that you are required to place yourself in a relaxed state for around 45 minutes. The downloads have a soothing voice trying to help you relax and visualise certain scenarios.
Sometimes I could get into it and I would sort of feel like I was floating. But not for the fulll 45 minutes. I was really having trouble keeping focused on what was being said and what was trying to be achieved with the hypnosis downloads for this amount of time. I couldn't concentrate or relax for this long.
I tried listening to hypnosis downloads for a few months, off and on. I didn't feel any better about myself.
So after scouring on the internet for something else that may help, I came across subliminal downloads. Now I couldn't go wrong with this. All you have to do is listen to them over and over again. That's it. No major concentration or anything. You can even listen to them while you sleep which I thought was great.
Now when you listen to a subliminal download, you can't hear any words being spoken. All you can hear is the sounds of the ocean or the rainforest. The messages are embedded in the subliminal download, and they are positive messages about food. Things like that you only want to eat when you are hungry and that you want to eat only healthy foods in small amounts.
When I first started listening to them, I didn't feel any different for around a week. Then slowly, I started to question if I wanted to eat something when I wasn't hungry. Sometimes I would still eat when I wasn't hungry, other times I could easily turn away from food.
The positive effects of subliminal messaging won't be felt overnight. At least, they weren't for me. Over the next few weeks, I started to feel more in control of my eating. I started to feel better about myself.

Get Workout Motivation with Subliminal Messaging
Exercise can do wonders in making you feel good about yourself. You really feel a sense of accomplishment after you work out. However, it can sometimes be hard to get the motivation to do anything physical, especially when you've packed on the pounds and are feeling awful about yourself.
The thought of exercising made me cringe. I thought to myself that there was no way I could exercise being as fat as I was. I felt so uncomfortable with walking to kitchen, which I did a lot of. But you've got to start somewhere. As I started noticing the positive effects subliminal messaging was having with food, I thought that I'd may as well give subliminal messaging a try with working out.
It took me a while to get up and start exercising regularly. I felt so uncomfortable the first time I walked to the shops. But for some reason, I did it anyway. I got up and started walking. I didn't think that I was capable of doing anything else.
And looking back, I believe that it was these negative thoughts about myself that was the biggest barrier. The "I can't do it" mentality was my biggest hurdle. You can do anything you put your mind to. Sometimes, it will seem easy. Other times, it will seem like the hardest thing that you've ever done. I think the most important thing is not to give up.
Keep on trying, even though it seems like you will never get to where you want to be. And that is what subliminal messaging did for me. It helped me change how I think about working out and myself.
Subliminal messaging has also made me aware of just how powerful your mind can be to help you get you what you want.
Again, please be aware that subliminal messaging isn't an instant magic cure. You're unlikely to wake up and want to go to the gym for hours every day. That's not how it works. Or, at least, it wasn't like that for me.
What subliminal messaging does is that it helps you start thinking about exercise differently. After listening to the subliminal messages for a while, you start to think that exercise isn't really that awful after all. The thought of going for a walk didn't horrify me as much as it used to.
Just be aware that you're the one that still has to get moving and work out. Subliminal messaging just makes it easier to do.

Workout Programs - Turbulence Training
Turbulence Training is probably one of the better workout programs out there. Here's a bit of information about it to see if you are interested.
What is Turbulence Training
Turbulence Training combines interval training and resistance training. You workout 20-30 minutes three times a week.
Interval training is short intervals or periods of high intensity exercises followed by low intensity exercises. Each interval can last from around 30 to 60 seconds.
Resistance training is using an opposing force, like your body weight, to increase your fitness.
Click here for Turbulence Training for Men
You don't do the same exercises over and over again with Turbulence Training. If you change the types of exercises you do, you get better results. Your body can become used to the same activity very quickly. If you change your exercises, your body is jolted out of complacency. And this jolt is what kick starts the fat burning from your body.
In every program of Turbulence Training, you're given different resistance training exercises to do. And every four weeks, you're given a new Turbulence Training program to try. Variety of exercises is a main component of Turbulence Training.
The only equipment you need for Turbulence Training is a pair of dumbbells, maybe a weight bench and an exercise ball, and most importantly, your own body weight.
Cardio doesn't work for fat loss
One of the big things in Turbulence Training is little or no cardiovascular exercises. Cardiovascular exercises are those activities like running. According to Turbulence training, cardio doesn't give you the results that you want to burn fat and get a nicely toned body.
Most of us have got it in our heads that we have to run for an hour every morning to get the weight off and keep it off. Not so, according to Turbulence Training. Three 25 minute workouts can get you better results.
Turbulence Training is clear on this point - You don't need 45 or 60 minutes of interval training to lose fat. 25-30 minutes is plenty. And this includes a warm up and stretching. Quality is way more important than quantity in Turbulence Training.
If you want to know more about how Turbulence Training is better for losing fat than cardio, here's a FREE report that spells it out in detail.

Turbulence Training for Women too
Yes, Turbulence Training is for women too. Even though is sounds like it only applies to fitness freaks, it is probably better suited for the average woman. Fitness freaks have it in their head that they have to (or want to - I didn't call them freaks for nothing!) do hours of exercise per day to have a nicely toned body. That's not quite true according to Turbulence Training.
Hey, if you want to exercise for hours everyday, go ahead. But the point is that you don't have to workout for hours every single day. It's actually of benefit to you if don't workout everyday and have a day off. Your body needs to recover.
You can also exercise in your own home with little or no equipment with Turbulence Training. A lot of the studies to determine the effectiveness of Turbulence Training were done on women. The women who did interval training burnt a lot more fat than those who did pure cardio, like running.

Workout Programs Reviewed
Many training programs are now moving towards interval and strength training, rather than lengthy cardiovascular activities, like running for hours on end. Let's take a look at how Turbulence Training compares with other forms of exercise.
Treadmill and running
Let's take a look at the treadmill and running. Even when you get on a treadmill, you'll notice that the treadmill has various functions. You can start it, and run or walk at any speed that you want, for any length of time that you want. That's the basic function of a treadmill. But when you look at the mode function, you'll see that there are quite a few different programs that you can use. These programs run for about 20-25 minutes and they involve you running for about 2 minutes and then walking for about 2 minutes, and repeating that for 20-25 minutes. Even the treadmill now has interval style training.
Gyms - spin classes, aerobics classes and weight training
Let's take a look at different gyms. Some gyms have spin classes. You get on a stationary bike and ride like mad for a few minutes, and then ride slowly for the next few minutes. This is repeated over and over again for around 45 minutes. This has an interval style training to it. These gyms will also tell you to do different types of workouts, such as spin classes mixed aerobics classes and weight training, to get the best out of your workout.
With Turbulence Training, you can use both the treadmill and the bike, if you want to. However, Turbulence Training will have you on the treadmill for a few minutes and then off it doing some sort of strength training, like push ups or squats for a minute or so. Then you would get back on the treadmill for a few minutes and do a different sort of strength training for a few minutes and so on, until 25 minutes are up. The same would apply for the bike. However, Turbulence Training would have you using the resistance function on the bike for a few minutes to make it feel harder, rather than have you on the bike pedalling easily, but fast, for an hour.
When you start weight training at a gym, it can be quite intimidating. You have to learn to use the machines, get in line with everyone else and get the most out of them. You might be able to afford a personal trainer, then and again, you might not. It also depends on what the personal trainer is telling you. I've gotten mixed information on what machine to use, and how many reps to do, and how often to do them. Either way, what this is telling you is that strength training is not only for building muscle, but also to get fit and shed weight.
Specialist gyms like Curves
Let's take a look at specialist gyms, like Curves. Curves training involves circuit training. You're on a particular machine for 30 seconds, then on a recovery board for 30 seconds. Each machine targets a particular body part, say your biceps for one machine, another for your chest, another for your bottom, and so on. This goes on for about 30 minutes. You can see that Curves involves resistance training through use of the machines. However, you don't necessarily need machines for resistance training. Your body weight and dumbbells can do just fine. Also, over time, you get used to the machines and they're not as effective as they used to be. You can also get really bored doing the same thing. Curves also maintains that you only need 30 minutes three times a week. Sound familiar?
The verdict
So, the consensus in the world of working out appears to be that you need some sort of interval style training, some sort of strength or resistance training, and some sort of variety to your workout program to get the most out of your workout.
Turbulence Training appears to cover all of these aspects. However, Turbulence Training may not be for everyone. And I think that Craig Ballantyne of Turbulence Training can appreciate that.
Turbulence Training is offering a 21 day trial of the program for a few dollars to see if it's for you. Click below if you're interested. At least Craig Ballantyne is willing to put his money where is mouth is.
